OPPIDAN has been providing Inspecting Architect services to lending institutions and government agencies since 1978. Our professional architectural firm consists of licensed architects, engineers, and construction experts who provide prompt, thorough, courteous, no nonsense service.

Gus Mauro and Ted Mazola incorporated OPPIDAN in 1980, after having found previous success in the real estate, development, engineering, and construction industries. Ted and Gus’ past experience and expertise in these areas made them acutely sensitive and knowledgeable of the needs of construction lenders. The Inspecting Architect service would provide lending institutions the comfort level they would need to facilitate funding projects of diverse sizes and complexities. Tom Weathered joined Gus and Ted in 1998 as their Senior Architect and has since been named a partner in the firm. Tom’s extensive experience as both a design architect and a construction manager has made this already seasoned team even stronger.

This expertise was acknowledged early on by the City of Chicago, when OPPIDAN was hired to act as a consultant to the City on a variety of neighborhood revitalization projects. As our experience, reputation, and staff grew, so did our list of clients and services. Today, OPPIDAN provides construction document review, draw evaluation services, and Cost To Complete reports to almost all of the construction lenders in the Chicago area. OPPIDAN also provides engineering inspections for private owners and developers, program management services for municipal clients, and Property Condition Assessments (PCAs) for end lenders in the Chicago area and throughout the country.
